Transfer Trouble :(

So after completing my first year of college at Edinboro University, and taking a semester off due to my mother having a stroke at the very beginning of my second semester, I am trying to figure out where to apply for the Spring 2012 semester. I applied to three universities so far, Waynesburg University, Concord University, and the University of Charleston.

I have been looking at WVU, and colleges in Colorado, North Carolina and South Carolina. As you can tell....I have no idea where I want to go. I absolutely want to apply undeclared, but I am looking to go into the forensics/Chemistry field. I'm so afraid I won't get accepted anywhere because, due to my mom's stroke, I was missing so much class and my grades last semester are nowhere near where they should be. My mom was six hours away from me at college and it hit me so hard, I didn't even have a car to come home.

I was wondering if any of my readers are attending, or visit, a college they absolutely fell in love with. The location, the atmosphere, the student body. If you do have any input that could help me, please feel free to comment, or to e-mail me personally: click here!

  1. First of all, I went through the same struggle after deciding fashion school just wasn't for me. I am so sorry to hear about your mother, too, as that must have been so incredibly hard to deal with during your first years in college.

I am a Penn State grad and would give my right AND left arm for the chance to go back. It's huge, I won't lie, but it still feels like home...the professors are wonderful, the campus is gorgeous, and it is SO easy to make new friends due to the aforementioned size. It is the quintessential college campus -- I was SO homesick being at fashion school (which was only 1.5 hours from my home) but when I got to Penn State, which was 3 hours, I was less homesick and felt "at home" instantly.

All colleges offer something different for everyone, but I thought I'd give you insight into my favorite school ;) Good luck with everything -- everything happens for a reason, so don't regret following your heart!!

  3. That's super ironic that you said Penn State actually haha. There is a branch campus in my town, and Penn State main campus is about three hours away from me too ! I did look into it, I know there are a lot of people and I guess why I didn't apply was because I figured it would be too hard to make friends and go out places and stuff. Thank you for the advice, I'm deff going to look into it, a few kids from my high school go there, they love it, I don't know why I never considered it. I want to visit the campus now haha it looked huge when I went through it !!!! Thank youu!
